Two Years

Well, it has been over two years since surgery... I still have scars but it was the best thing I ever did for myself.

Right now I'm procrastinating from reading a book, The Once & Future King, for my book club. I'd rather watch TV and browse the internet, the only time I ever read is at night and it puts me to sleep. I'm only on page 53 and it is over 650 pages. I need to finish it in about a week and a half.

yep, i'm as flat as a board. it rocks. i got my drains pulled, right one i didn't even feel. left one felt a bit like getting stuck by a needle. looking down at my flat chest was surreal. they cut away some of my binding to help with the digging in, but i think they cut TOO much. it barely covers my right nipple graft. hmm.

went to fisherman's wharf with a view of the golden gate bridge and alcatraz. saw the sea lions. then walked to the cable car and took it all the way up and down the hilly streets. it was an exciting 20-25 minute ride.

But i'm pooped and ready to rest the remainder of the night.

Lastnight made it across the street for dinner. This morning walked about four/five blocks to breakfast. After breakfast walked to chinatown and around a little, then back. I'm pooped. It was fun though. Hoping to get touristy things in tomorrow and maybe tonight.

Itchy

my binding is digging into my skin and rubbing, causing a nasty bruise and lots of itchiness. i only have two more days until i can take this off and get readjusted. everything seemed fine with the wrapping until i had to go into surgery for the second time. my surgeon said i could used benadryl (sp)? to help with that. i've heard of some guys getting permanent scars from the digging in. i hope this isn't the case. i've tried to shift it but it hurts too much.

tuesday at 1:30 i get to look at my chest for the first time when the drains are pulled. i'll know if the grafts took, im 99% sure they did but i was 99% sure i wasn't going to get a hematoma.

well... day two or three post surgery, depending on how you look at it. had to go to er thursday night and go under again. i'm ok. just a day behind recovery/pain wise. cool ass bruise too. looks really deep purple/mauve according to mom

Will try to keep this updated. The hotel is really cool but mom took a shower and now i hear fucking drips. hope i can sleep tonight and also wake up on time tomorrow. it is about a ten minute walk to the surgery center from here. yippee!!

I've got about 4.5 or 5 inches. It makes everything so white and quiet, except when my neighbor takes his 4 wheeler up and down the street. This may be a good thing though 'cause i need to get out of here tomorrow morning. I took a walk down the hill to see how things are and the road has been sanded and is slushy right now. hopefully it won't get too cold i'll be able to get out. There were a few cars turned the wrong way on the hill and i passed by a couple of people going to rescue their cars left at the park.

Now i should be packing and cleaning up but i feel like being lazy and watching the same updates on the news over and over again.

I love the library system in my county, it lets you check out movies for three weeks! So I'm all loaded up for vacation, four movies and six books. Only downside is the max checkout time for books is three weeks. In the county i used to mooch off of you could have books for a month.

I snuck away from my honeymoon with my new Tivo to connect to the real world for a bit. I'm so addicted to the internet that I unplugged my Tivo from updates. That's okay, i'll have lots of goodies to wait for me next time I connect. It is really exciting to come home every day and see what else has recorded.

I'm sure everyone is sick of me talking about it already, but i don't care.

I've had my TIVO for two evenings now, and i can't use it until i get the appropriate ethernet/usb connector. FOUR stores don't have it... although at least at Radio Shack the dude said "you're not the first to ask".

After months of speculation, 710 KIRO is becoming an all sports radio station. This makes me wonder if they'll bring back New York Vinny. I remember falling asleep when i was a teenager to him. Also, maybe they'll pull Groz over. He was downgraded by KJR to just the two hours on Groz with Gas. Still, it sucks that KBSG is no longer. 97.3 KBSG was so good, the best station, and then it went crappy with The Bee or whatever it was called.

On another note, i locked myself out of the house but was able to get in thanks to one of my sisters. Thanks!

I don't have much to say on the other one. I had a huge long ass rant on the election but i was too depressed.

I went and had my blood sucked and then hit Old Country Buffet 'cause i was starving and it was the only place open. Bad idea, I always eat way too much there. Then i drove around looking for a library but couldn't find one (i might as well join the system i actually belong to instead of pilfering off of another). Now i'm procrastinating on cleaning the Litter Boxes once again while i watch TV from this week.

I really need to go, i haven't done any cardio this week at home. Usually I do cardio on my treadmill on the days i don't go to the gym, but i guess it has been just one of those weeks. One day i'll make it as soon as it opens (8am on Sundays).

Truly, I am. I downloaded flash again to see if the bugs were fixed and now i can't get onto facebook once again. Let's see, do i want to be able to watch youtube videos or access facebook? i guess i could keep uninstalling and installing. that could get annoying.

i went to the gym today for another training session, i can see i'm getting stronger. Been at it just a little over a month now and i can already see changes in my ability. My endurance and strength are both increasing... and this is only three times a week (once by myself). If only i could be there every day. Damn work.

facebook still crashes, even after shutting my computer off. Damn you VCR for making me download a flash player that didn't work and fucked up my ability to use websites with flash.

It was a busy day today... went on a hunt for a lawn mower. I guess i've lived here for almost five months and my grass looks like a freaking grass jungle out there. Not a forest, a jungle. There is probably some crazy stuff going on!

Ended up getting the mower at Costco, as well as a shelvy thingy and a catpost. Oh, and FOUR rolls of duct tape and four pairs of garden gloves. Had to go back and get the shelvy thing and mower after dropped off the other stuff, cause they wouldn't fit!!

So now I can finally mow my fucking lawn. Now all I have to do is wait for the weather to dry a little.

Okay, gotta run. Primetime is about to start!! We are talking AMERICAN IDOL and THE AMAZING RACE!! woo and hoo!!

I am back, but only because I'm bored as hell!! This will give me another reason to procrastinate on getting a job. Um... so Crash won the Oscar, yahoo!! It was the best of the nominated films, for sure. I wish King Kong or Walk the Line had been nominated in there. Oh well.

Kirby Puckett died yesterday, rest in peace dude!! He was 45. MLB is about to start up, yahoo!!

Dana Reeve died yesterday too, widow of Christopher Reeve. She was 44.
